Did you know? Paella is a rice dish originating from Valencia, Spain, and it takes its name from the pan it is cooked in, which is called “Paellera” from the Latin word for 'pan' or 'dish.'   The main ingredients are rice, saffron and olive oil (Vigo’s Bestsellers) and it is usually garnished with vegetables and meat or seafood.  My Paella was garnished with Shrimp, which is one of my favorite seafoods.

With VIGO Paella Valenciana you may create this delicious dish in just 20 -25 minutes, because they make it easy for you!!!!

Every country has a dish that unites its people or just as often, divides them. In Spain, that dish is Paella. Get us talking about our Paellas, or “Arroces”, as they are often called, and you may get the sense that there are more paella recipes than there are stars in the sky.  You may check out our variety of rice mixes (“arroces”) at

Paella perfection comes about when the person who is cooking it has an almost tangible affection for the dish itself, for the process of making it, and for the people who will be eating it.

  • 1-10 oz. can baby clams, drained but retain liquid
  • 1 lb. frozen shrimp, thawed
  • 4 Tbsp. Vigo olive oil
  • 1 19 oz. pkg. Vigo Paella Valenciana

1 In a two-quart shallow saucepan with tight-fitting lid, bring 3 cups (24oz.) of water to a boil.
2 Add can of seafood, frozen shrimp and pouch of yellow rice. Return to a boil. Stir while boiling for 1 minute.
3 Cover saucepan tightly. Reduce heat to simmer. Cook for 20-25 minutes undisturbed.
